Founded in 1907. As an easygoing soba restaurant for ordinary people, it is now run by the fifth generation in Nakanohashidori (formerly Fukidecho), a neighborhood that retains some of the downtown character of the old south of the castle area. Kappo ryori (fine dining) and soba noodles were the specialties of the house in its early years, a tradition that is continued in our kaiseki ryori, Morioka’s famed wanko soba as well as original Nambu Soba Kaiseki and Soba Furumai spreads. Here you can also enjoy Morioka’s high-quality Nakatsugawa sake.
In addition to the main branch, Azumaya has the Annex, Otesaki and Ekimae Branches, each with seating for 100-150.
