First opened in November 2021, the facility aims to promote the values of World Heritage Hiraizumi and operate as a central base to pass down these values to the future generation. It serves as a starting point for visitors to learn the World Heritage sites in Hiraizumi, including Chuson-ji and Motsu-ji Temple, and other historically related sites. Visitors will be able to know the distinct features of each site and their relevance in the overall context of Hiraizumi’s cultural heritage with various visuals and dioramas.
