The SL Ginga steam locomotive entered service on April 12, 2014 between Hanamaki and Kamaishi on the JR Kamaishi Line. Coach interiors are designed with constellations and animals that appear in Kenji Miyazawa’s novel Night on the Galactic Railroad.
