Narishima Bishamondo Temple, a national important cultural property, contains the Wooden Standing Image of Bishamonten ( God of War, Guardian of the North ) , itself an important cultural property. The virile 4.73-m image is the tallest Bishamonten statue in Japan. The Bishamonten, placed inside the treasure hall of the temple, stands on the hands of another figure, a gentle earth goddess. There is another national important cultural property, the Wooden Standing Image of Kichijoten ( Goddess of Wealth and Beauty ) , making a contrast with the masculine Bishamonten.
