A building that was originally a prefectural library located on a corner of Morioka Castle Site Park ( Iwate Park ) was completely renovated and opened in 2011. The first floor features displays of festivals in Morioka ( Chagu Chagu Umako Horse Festival, Morioka Sansa Odori Festival, and Morioka Aki Matsuri Dashi ) and introduces seasonal tourist information. The second floor features displays of the history of Morioka han and the treasures of the Nanbu clan. There is also a café ( the rest area “Kozukata” ) there. Please visit and enjoy walking around town and experiencing the old castle town culture
