This is a comprehensive museum with a variety of exhibits on Iwate’s history, geology, plant and animal life, etc. There are replicas of Iwate’s major cultural properties such as Buddhist images, as well as various samurai items such as swords, armor, and uniquely designed helmets. There is also an impressive skeletal specimen of Mamenchisaurus.
