The Hiraniwa Highlands, which stretch across Kuzumaki and Kuji, are covered with the largest white birch forest in Japan. In spring, flowers such as lilies-of-the-valley and Japanese azaleas blossom; in fall, the birches and beeches change color; in winter, you can enjoy skiing. There are facilities such as Mori no Kodama-kan where you can try many activities, Kuzumaki Winery, and Shirakaba-no-Yu, a bathing facility.
